Limassol Boat Show 2017 a huge success

Major industry players give their take on the Limassol Boat Show and look ahead to the future.

Thousands of visitors, hundreds of transactions and a great show for all. Numerous new potential participants and exhibitors, from both Cyprus and abroad, have already expressed an interest in participating for the first time next year.

The Limassol Boat Show 2017 concluded for another year on Sunday the 7th of May, with record numbers of attendance and sales. Feedback from participants and visitors indicates that results have surpassed all expectations, paving the way for an even more successful show next year. According to the organisers, more than 20,000 people from various countries visited the show over the three days. A range of business ventures and collaborations, as well as hundreds of transactions were noted among the 100 exhibitors who participated in the Boat Show.

Mr Aristos Aristidou, the organising company’s Director, expressed his delight in the results:

“We are so pleased to have brought the largest Boat Show to have ever been organised in Cyprus to fruition. The show ran smoothly and the majority of exhibitors expressed their satisfaction with the outcome of the event in terms of the organisation, promotion, turnout and productivity. We have received a large number of applications from companies in Cyprus and abroad for participation at the next Limassol Boat Show and we have already started discussing logistics for the upcoming year. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Limassol Marina for the seamless collaboration in the co-organisation of the event.”

Among the visitors, prominent figures present at the event included the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, who said:

“Many congratulations to the organisers. I really wasn’t expecting to witness an event of this scale. It is very impressive.”

The Limassol Mayor, Mr Nicos Nicolaides, also shared his enthusiasm for the show during the opening ceremony, commenting on its evolution:

“It is a success story, the organisers’ vision 10 years ago has become a reality. This exhibition is a jewel for Limassol Marina, the city of Limassol and Cyprus. I am positive that it will continue to grow with success. Our city has so much to benefit from this event.”

The CEO of Limassol Marina, Mr Andreas Christodoulides, pointed out:

“We are incredibly proud to be hosting and co-organising such a successful event. The turnout, the quality of the exhibitors and interest expressed throughout the past weekend prove how rapidly the Limassol Boat Show is growing. Our aim is for this annual event to evolve into an international boat show in the coming years. The location lends itself beautifully to this platform and we are confident Limassol will continue to attract a broad spectrum of prospective customers for the industry as a whole. May is the beginning of our high season and an ideal time to be hosting this event.”

The representatives of the largest and most established shipyards attending the show, along with their local distributors, also expressed their satisfaction in the event. According to the Sales Manager and co-owner of Sunseeker Group – London, Christopher Head:

“It was a really wonderful show. I was very impressed by the magnitude and the organisation of this event. Very important clients have visited our stand and I firmly believe that Cyprus has all the qualifications for a successful future in the yachting sector especially now with the opening of new marinas.”

The General Manager of Blue Point Yachting, Mr Marios Iordanous, the agency of highly sought-after and popular Azimut Yachts, reflected on the show with positivity:

“This Boat Show was clearly an improvement on last year’s, with a remarkable interest from the visitors. We also noticed an increase in the number of visitors from other countries, which is extremely encouraging.”

As the Director of Princess Yacht Cyprus Ltd, Mr Michael Petrakis reaffirmed:

“We are very proud that our company contributed to upgrading the Limassol Boat Show and we hope that with our ongoing efforts we will have an advanced event, soon to be included in the map of the International Boat Shows.”

This air of anticipation and momentum has raised the bar for the next show to be held from the 4th to 6th of May 2018. Planning is already underway with the promise of an even more impressive and successful Limassol Boat Show.
