The 2017 Izmir Autumn Trophy 1st Leg Race, organised by ICYC and EAYK started at Cesme Marina with 30 participant yachts on 7th of October.
The first day of the trophy started with a briefing at the Marina Yacht Club, which although the race was abandoned due to 32 knot wind, a video prepared by Tualy Cokacar from the Quattro team was presented in the afternoon.
At the Opening Ceremony, Can AKALTAN, General Manager of Cesme Marina, confirmed the news that over the next few days, EAYK and ICYC clubs would join forces together, offering one club under the name of EAYK Cesme Marina.
EAYK Commodore Akif SEZER commented, “We have brought the necessity of hosting at least two university young sailors from the sailing communities of Universities in the 2018 Winter Trophy.”
The second day of the race started in a beautiful sunny weather. After the briefing, the boats sailed to Cesme Bosporus to leave a wreath to bid farewell for the late EAYK Commodore Turgut Ayker, who sadly passed away last week. After the ceremony, the races were completed under IRC and Support classes.

Izmir Winter Trophy 2nd leg races will be held on 21th – 22th of October in Cesme.
