The latest fire drill at the marina involved a boat on fire outside of the marina, and included the swift action of a back up boat along with the help of  the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade responding with pressurised water to extinguish. In addition, a barrier was created at sea to prevent fuel leakage around the boat.

Can Akaltan CMM, General Marina Manager comments;

“The purpose of our exercise is to test the emergency response capability of our personnel and the readiness of the equipment in a similar situation that can be experienced in the marina; however, it was to ensure that coordination with our stakeholders was ensured.”

Can continues;

“With the start of the summer season, we have been successfully conducting our drills for many years in order to ensure that the teams are ready for the negativities that may occur in the increasing yacht and boat traffic and to prevent similar incidents by intervening in emergency situations as soon as possible. We have successfully completed our last naval exercise. We would also like to thank our Emergency Team, which is of great importance in the first response, for always being prepared for the situation.”
