Following the pledge from the Port of Amsterdam and Dutch superyacht builders made at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show, we wanted to share with you a comment from Dan Hughes, COO of Camper & Nicholsons Marinas
Internationally renowned marina owners and operators who will design, commission, manage and operate the new Edinburgh Marina - the centrepiece of the unique £500 million waterside quarter development close to Edinburgh city centre.
Dan Hughes, COO of Camper & Nicholsons Marinas
Hughes commented: “The new generation of yacht owners willing and able to explore more interesting locations continues to gain momentum. With a greater focus on the development of northern European superyacht routes, such as the Cool Route, and with the new Edinburgh Marina project already generating significant interest, there is no reason why Edinburgh should not become a natural part of northern European cruising. Edinburgh Marina’s prime location in a historic and increasingly famous city, with deep and open water access and exceptional service levels, are key criteria of which many other destinations cannot boast.”
Designed to surpass the Yacht Harbour Association’s 5 Gold Anchor rating, Edinburgh Marina will comprise 340 fully serviced berths providing 24/7 access to the sea, a state-of-the-art marina office and fully serviced boatyard and dry-stack operation. Edinburgh Marina is expected to attract boat owners and enthusiasts from around the world and has the ability to accommodate the full-size range of yachts and cruisers.
Edinburgh Marina will be located immediately next to the Edinburgh Marina Spa and Conference Hotel, so yacht owners will be able to benefit from on-board food & drink service and concierge services, as well as access to the Hotel spa and gym. Adjacent to the new luxury Marina are impressive residences where residents will have the opportunity to reserve a marina berth when purchasing their apartment. Construction for both the hotel and marina is expected to start mid-2019.
